At Friendly Soap, we genuinely love hearing from our customers! Your feedback, questions, and suggestions are so important to us and play a big part in how we grow as a business. Whether you’re curious about our new products, want to share some tips, or have thoughts on sustainability, your insights help us to continually improve what we do. 

Over time, we’ve seen a few questions pop up more frequently, so we thought it might be helpful to gather some answers to those common queries. We hope this helps to clear up some of your questions and gives you a better understanding of who we are and what motivates us!

Here are a few key highlights from the survey: we were thrilled to see that an incredible 99.7% of you would recommend Friendly Soap products to a friend! It was also fantastic to hear that sustainability is a key factor for many of our customers when choosing to shop with us.

 

 

Your Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make my soap bar last longer?

While our natural soap bars are designed to last, the key to getting the most out of them is ensuring they dry out between uses. Using a soap rack with good drainage is a great way to help with this. Also, our eco-friendly Soap Savers are perfect for using up those last bits of soap and making your bar go even further. Why aren't your products sold in supermarkets?

While our products aren’t available in supermarkets, you can find them in many health food stores and independent grocers throughout the UK. If your local store doesn’t stock Friendly Soap yet, you can always ask them to add it to their next order! If that’s not an option, don’t worry—you can always buy directly from our website and have it delivered to your door.

Why did you stop making the cedarwood and cinnamon soap?

We’re so glad you loved our Cedarwood and Cinnamon soap! Although the title on the box has changed our Cinnamon Soap still contains cedarwood. The ingredients are exactly the same, so you can still enjoy your favourite fragrance.

Why aren’t the off-cut boxes available anymore?

We still offer our off-cuts, but they’ve now been rebranded as "Soapy Scraps"! You can purchase them directly from our website. Soapy Scraps are a great way to save money and reduce waste, as they make use of soap that would otherwise go unused. Due to their nature, they’re available in limited quantities, so be sure to grab them while you can!

Is there anything you would like to see us make? 

I wish you made specific shower bars.

All of our natural soap bars are ideal for both bath and shower use! In fact, we’ve just launched our new Soap on a Rope range, which is even better for the shower. The rope allows you to hang the bar up to dry between uses, helping it last even longer.

It would be great if you did a shampoo for curly hair:

All of our natural shampoo bars are curly-girl approved, meaning they're made with natural ingredients and are free from sulphates, parabens and alcohol which can strip hair of its natural oils and cause damage.

I’d like to see plastic-free laundry sheets.

Unfortunately, we don’t offer laundry sheets, as all laundry sheets contain polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a plastic-based material used to hold the detergent together. While PVA is water-soluble, it still breaks down into microplastics.

Instead, we offer an eco-friendly laundry detergent that is completely plastic-free and made with natural, biodegradable ingredients. It’s gentle on fabrics, skin, and the environment.

I would love to see an exfoliating soap.

We do offer exfoliating soaps! Our Peppermint soap bars include poppyseeds, a natural, plastic-free exfoliator. We also have several soaps in our new Lifestyle range, like our Gardener’s Soap Bar, which includes natural exfoliants such as volcanic pumice and poppyseed.

I’d love to see shampoo bars for hard water areas.

We understand the challenges of hard water, and while some customers use our shampoo bars in hard water areas without issue, we realise that they don’t work for everyone. If you are interested in natural shampoo bars, it might be worth trying one to see how it performs for you. However, we understand that hard water can affect the way our bars lather and perform, and they may not be suitable for everyone in these areas.

A seaweed soap would be lovely.

Our Rosemary Soap Bar does contain seaweed.  We chose seaweed for its anti-inflammatory properties which are great at soothing and calming irritated skin.

 It would be great if you did an eco-friendly washing-up liquid.

We don’t offer washing-up liquid as they tend to be packaged in plastic bottles. Instead, we have an eco-friendly Kitchen Bar made with biodegradable ingredients. It’s gentle on your hands, doesn’t leave any soapy residue, and works great for cleaning dishes. Plus, it can also be used to help remove tough laundry stains before washing. It’s a perfect plastic-free alternative for your kitchen!

I would like to see a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner bar?

That’s a great suggestion! In fact, we’re currently working on perfecting a formula 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner bar. Be sure to stay subscribed to our mailing list so you don’t miss out when it’s ready!

What about creating mini soap bars for travel and easy transport?

We already offer mini soap bars, perfect for travel! They come in five different fragrances, from relaxing Lavender to refreshing Lemongrass, and we also have a 2-in-1 Hair and Body Bar. These mini soap bars are ideal for travelling overseas with, since they’re not liquid, meaning you can easily carry them in your luggage without any issues. Compact, convenient, and travel-friendly!

I would like to see more sustainable gifts and hampers?

We’ve recently refreshed our gift shop on our website, and it’s filled with lots of sustainable options! From natural soap selections to luxury spa hampers, you’ll find a variety of eco-friendly gifts. As with everything we create, all of our gift sets and hampers are plastic-free, cruelty-free, and made with natural, plant-based ingredients.
