Why our Friendly Soap Customers are Savvy and 'Clean'
Share
We're in a world where consumers are increasingly scrutinising every claim on packaging. Cross-referencing ingredient lists with TikTok, using AI, and fact-checking on apps. And we welcome that close examination. At Friendly Soap, we believe in the power of honesty. We choose to keep things transparent. Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s the right thing to do.
The Truth Behind the Label
Today’s shoppers aren’t just buying products; they’re investigating them. They’re turning over packs, photographing ingredient lists, and asking: ‘Is this really as good as it claims?’ In response, we can clearly say about our products: Yes, it is!
We don’t hide behind vague terms. We can use the word “natural” with confidence. Our ingredient lists are short, recognisable, and free from unnecessary additives. When you pick up a bar of Friendly Soap, you’re not just buying soap. You’re choosing a product that respects you and the planet.

Simplicity as a Statement
The rise of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) has made consumers more sceptical than ever. Consumers are savvy. In the face of green-washing, we're all counting ingredients, questioning claims, and demanding proof.
Our soaps are handcrafted using the traditional cold-process method, with plant-based oils and butters that nourish your skin: no synthetic fragrances, no plastic packaging, and no empty promises. What you see on the label is what you get - nothing more, nothing less.
What Does 'Clean Beauty' Mean in 2026?
To us, 'clean beauty' means prioritising safety, transparency, and sustainability. But because the term is not legally regulated, it relies on conscious choices rather than formal standards. It should involve avoiding potentially harmful ingredients, demanding clear labelling, and committing to eco-friendly, ethical practices.

Trust Through Transparency
In a market where brands risk being called out for overstating their credentials, we take pride in underpromising and overdelivering. Our packaging doesn’t just say we’re plastic-free, ethical, and kind to your skin; it proves it.
Every ingredient is listed clearly, every claim is backed by action, and every bar is made with care. Because when you know better, you should do better. And for us, that starts with simplicity.
What does paraben-free and SLS-free mean?
Parabens - what they are: Inexpensive, highly effective preservatives used to extend the shelf life of creams, lotions, and makeup. Common names include Methylparaben, Propylparaben, and Butylparaben.
Why they are avoided: Parabens can weakly mimic the hormone estrogen. Because of this, there are ongoing scientific and consumer concerns regarding endocrine disruption.
SLS - what it is: A synthetic surfactant and detergent used in shampoos, body washes, and cleansers. It is heavily utilised by manufacturers because it is cheap and creates a very satisfying, rich lather.
Why Avoid It: SLS is incredibly effective at degreasing, which means it often strips away the scalp and skin's natural moisture barrier. This can lead to dry, brittle hair, a flaky or itchy scalp, and redness or irritation.
